E - ONLY means you can only pay the toll in this lane with an electronic tag.
E + AUTO (or EXACT TOLL) means you can use the lane with an electronic tag or you can stop at the toll booth to pay with the exact amount of cash. Tag users should approach slowly as boom gates may need to be raised.
E + CHANGE means you can pay the toll with a tag or you can stop to pay the attendant with any dollar amount and theyll give you change. Tag users should approach slowly as boom gates may need to be raised.
The big E and little e symbols together on a sign or lane marking mean the motorway or lane ahead is fully electronic and only accepts tags or passes. If you dont have a tag, you'll need to arrange a pass with the relevant motorway operator. This will include additional administration fees. You can do this before or up to 48 hours after your trip. Signs near the toll points will provide phone and website details for you to arrange your pass.
